Public Awareness Event of Unistart Hubs in Nafplio

The UniStart Hubs successfully organized the Public Awareness Event titled "Art in Motion: From School to Market," which took place as part of the Career Day of the Department of Performing and Digital Arts (DPDA) of the University of the Peloponnese, on Tuesday, May 27, 2025, from 10:00 AM to 3:30 PM, in Hall A1 of the Faculty of Fine Arts in Aria, Nafplio.
The aim of the event was to present a multifaceted framework of opportunities, ranging from the cultural and creative industries to the development of innovative solutions and practices within the sector. The event was well-received by the audience and led to the highlighting of the professional and business prospects offered by the dynamic and evolving field of performing and digital arts, strengthening the connection between education, the labor market, and entrepreneurship.
The event opened with greetings from the academic community of the department. Specifically, the Assistant Professors of the DPDA, Ms. Elina Roïnioti and Ms. Gina Giotaki, emphasized the importance of implementing such initiatives within the spaces of the University of the Peloponnese. Following that, the Head of the department, Ms. Marina Kotzamani, mentioned that the day was dedicated to the arts and that today’s participation acts as a catalyst for organizing more activities. Finally, the greetings were concluded by Ms. Maria Christodimopoulou, Head of the Career Office of the University of the Peloponnese, who highlighted the contribution of the Unistart program as a driving force for boosting entrepreneurship in the Region and the University.
The event included two discussion panels. The first panel featured professionals from the fields of Performing and Digital Arts, as well as the academic community. Mr. Antonis Kontrogiannis, Art Historian and Creative & Art Director of Fougaro Artcenter, focused on entrepreneurship in the artistic field and the importance of constantly seeking new opportunities. Following him, Mr. Spyros Kouvaras, choreographer, dancer, and founder of the Synthesis 748 Dance Co, highlighted the significance of skill development, which is based on experiential approaches. Ms. Maria Anestopoulou, Artistic Director of the International Animation Festival Animasyros, emphasized the dynamic role of animation and the importance of festivals in promoting cultural and artistic events. She also underlined the significance of entrepreneurship within the arts sector. Lastly, Ms. Vasiliki Kremastioti, Lecturer in the Department of Business Administration and Organizations at the University of the Peloponnese and a member of the scientific committee of Unistart Hubs, showcased the importance of the emblematic work of innovation and entrepreneurship structures and the opportunities that arise through the connection between the University and the labor market.
The second panel, which took place via online connection, featured graduates from the DPDA, specifically Mr. Nikos Pappas and Mr. Vasilis Vasiliadis, who discussed with students their future development after obtaining their degree. In the second part of the event, two workshops were held, which gathered significant interest and active participation. The first workshop focused on understanding and applying the business tool, Business Model Canvas, while the second workshop was centered on developing professional and personal skills through role-playing games (RPGs). The workshops were coordinated by Ms. Vasiliki Kremastioti and Mr. Thodoris Diakos, Artist and Game Designer, respectively.
