Public Awareness Event of UniStart Hubs in Kalamata

The UniStart Hubs public information event, titled “From Studies to the Market: Career Paths and Entrepreneurship in Philological Studies”, οn Thursday, May 8, 2025, at the “Nikolaos Politis” Amphitheater of the School of Humanities and Cultural Studies at the University of the Peloponnese in Kalamata, the event took place. The event was part of the Career Day of the Department of Philology and offered a comprehensive experience of information, empowerment, and professional networking for students and graduates of philological studies. The first part of the event focused on the institutional framework and support opportunities for graduates, featuring representatives from the Career Office of the University of the Peloponnese and faculty members. Available career paths were analyzed, along with the importance of students’ engagement with market stakeholders and the educational community.

Next, the panel on Markets and Employment Sectors highlighted the professional opportunities available to graduates across a wide range of fields. Representatives from human resource management, language technology, media, and education shared their experiences, challenges, and the skills required in today’s job market.

A central part of the event was the section titled “Entrepreneurial Spirit – Applications in the Field of Philological Studies”, where graduates of the Department of Philology presented their career paths in businesses, media, public services, and freelance professions, inspiring attendees to apply their knowledge and interests in innovative ways. The session was opened by Dimitris Voulgaris, Coordinator of the UniStart Hubs in Kalamata, with a talk on the entrepreneurial potential f humanities studies and the importance of boosting professional self-confidence. The day concluded with targeted skill-building workshopssuch as CV and LinkedIn profile writing, as well as mock interviews conducted by human resources professionals, offering participants hands-on experience with recruitment processes.

The public information event was implemented as part of Subproject 1, "Organization and Operation of Structures," under the Action "Creation of Support Structures for Knowledge-Intensive Innovation and Entrepreneurship in the Region of Peloponnese," co-funded by ESPA 2021-2027, MIS: 6004735.
