UniStart Hubs Public Awareness Event in Tripoli

The 9th public awareness event of Unistart Hubs, titled "Digital Transformation and Business Opportunities," was successfully held on Wednesday, May 21, 2025, at the event hall of the Chamber of Arcadia in Tripoli. The event focused on the role of technological advancements and innovation in shaping new business opportunities for small and medium-sized enterprises, attracting significant interest from the business and academic communities in the region.

Participants had the opportunity to learn about the activities of UniStart Hubs, which serve as a bridge between university research and business activity in the Peloponnese Region, highlighting technological innovation as a key driver of competitiveness and sustainability. At the beginning of the event, a greeting was delivered by the Deputy Regional Governor of Peloponnese, Mr. Christos Lampropoulos, emphasizing the region's support for digital transformation, and by the President of the Chamber of Arcadia, Mr. Giannis Troupis, who underscored the role of collaboration between the Chamber, the Region, and the University in enhancing innovation in local entrepreneurship.

The central discussion panel featured three distinguished speakers, representing both the academic and business sectors. Dr. Vassilis Nikolopoulos, co-founder and CTO of Avokado, the startup of the Metlen Energy & Metals group, highlighted the importance of technology and artificial intelligence in enhancing productivity and business strategy, emphasizing the need for education and the use of data through simple, efficient digital tools. Dr. Christos Tryfonopoulos, Professor of Computer Science at the University of the Peloponnese, presented ways in which university research is practically applied, fostering innovation in businesses and providing valuable stimuli for students. Fotis Romoudis, Development Director of the Epsilon Net Group, showcased how technological advancements and digital transformation tools can support small businesses, helping them evolve and meet the demands of the modern market.

The discussion was moderated by Antonis Papadopoulos, Head of Development and Strategic Partnerships at Break Even Consulting, who emphasized the strategic aspects of digital transformation, highlighting the role of collaboration between businesses and research institutions.

During the event, it was emphasized that digital transformation is not limited to technology, but involves a complete shift in mindset and the way businesses operate and grow. The event concluded with a meaningful and constructive dialogue, confirming the importance of such initiatives in strengthening the local business ecosystem.
